Direct Answer
The Jobs Support Scheme (JSS) and certain other government grants are generally exempt from corporate tax and are strictly out-of-scope for GST. They must not be included in your GST F5 taxable supplies (Box 1).
Avoiding GST Errors
When a cash injection from IRAS or the CPF Board hits the bank account, automated bank-feed rules often mistakenly classify it as 'Other Revenue' and apply standard 9% GST. This inflates your GST liability.
Form C-S Declarations
While filing your corporate tax, JSS payouts are clearly designated as tax-exempt. You must deduct them from your net profit in the tax computation schedule so you do not pay the 17% corporate tax on them.
